Fiat S.p.A. could turn to France’s PSA/Peugeot-Citroen as a potential merger partner after its bid for Germany’s Opel failed, but a deal would be full of complications.
Germany reached a landmark deal with Canadian supplier Magna International Inc., General Motors and governments to save Opel from the imminent bankruptcy of its U.S. parent.
General Motors hourly workers represented by the UAW overwhelming approved contract concessions this week in advance of GM’s probable bankruptcy filing. The GM rank-and-file voted 74 percent in favor of the contract, the UAW announced today.
